Trend points to more distance meetings
Decentralised companies, increased environmental trends and ever more networks needing quick remote meetings to push projects forward are the trends that are also driving the demand for remote meeting products with a high sound quality. Another important factor is that UCC (Unified Communications and Collaboration) is growing, which means that products that can easily interact, such as UCC tools, will be in demand.
Following the economic downturn in 2009, the entire conference telephony industry experienced strong growth in 2010 with increasing demand for remote meeting products. Konftel’s expansion was a fantastic 50%! During the economic downturn of 2009, Konftel was unique as the only company that expanded while the industry as a whole was contracting: (Konftel +13%, the industry -21%, source: Frost & Sullivan*).
“This convinces us that investment in local sales offices and the development of more new models was an important, correct step,” says Peter Renkel, CEO of Swedish-based Konftel.
Annual growth of 17%
Research firm Frost & Sullivan is predicting continued average annual growth of 17% for the industry during the period 2010-2015. So, remote meetings are still a hot topic and look like moving even closer to the personal work desk, which means more remote meeting units with good sound quality will be required. UCC (Unified Communications and Collaboration) is also a growing trend.
UCC means that the dividing lines between computers and telephony are dissolving – the entire communications systems of companies (e-mail, telephone, document exchange, computer-based meetings, etc.) are integrated. This means that user-friendly and platform-based UCC tools such as conference phones with a high sound quality will be in demand.
