Why have we been named best in class?
Konftel recently won the Customer Value Leadership Award 2018. The accolade is presented by the distinguished US analysis firm Frost & Sullivan*, a big hitter in our industry. The prize is also known as the Best Practices Awards – read the full report here. Being named best in class in our industry is an incredible 30th anniversary gift that warms the very soul of our company.
Naturally there are many points in the Benchmark report that are gratifying to read, but two things stand out for us. Number one is Frost & Sullivan’s recognition of our strong focus on the user. We have a mantra that is ever-present in both the technical development and design processes – focus on the user. The technology is just there to help, not to be an end in itself and certainly not to get in the way of the functionality.
Sound at the heart of everything
The second standout point is that Frost & Sullivan believes our OmniSound audio technology indicates a clear understanding that sound is the crucial ingredient in a productive distance meeting. In fact, that sums up the very soul of Konftel – perfect sound. Searching for this Holy Grail was where it all started 30 years ago, but that’s another story. Obviously we have to be able to hear clearly in order to understand each other, but this is an area where many distance meetings still fall down. Just not when our products are in the room.
Moving into video conferencing
These two ingredients remain front and center as we now also focus on making all the world’s video conferences more productive. Ease of use and perfect sound quality. We want to make setting up a video conference super simple. It should take no time at all and you shouldn’t need to call your nephew to get everything working. All our video bundles are therefore based on the Konftel One Cable Connection. When you enter the meeting room to hold your video conference, all you have to do is plug a USB cable into your laptop and you’re off. The camera, speakerphone and screen are already connected via Konftel’s OCC hub.
Distance meetings more important than ever
We humbly thank Frost & Sullivan for the award, but we have no intention of sitting back and letting anyone overtake us. We’ve facilitated millions of productive distance meetings over the past 30 years, and I promise that’s going to continue. It is also more vital than ever before that we all reflect on how a company’s business trips affect the environment. Distance meetings have become more important than we could possibly have imagined three decades ago. So together, let’s hold another few million meetings and save the environment – with or without video, but always with perfect sound and a focus on the user.
