Konftel Ego receives Good Design award
The personal speakerphone Konftel Ego gets new attention from a prestigious design award. It is The Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design and Metropolitan Arts Press Ltd. that recognizes Konftel Ego with the GOOD DESIGN® Award. The GOOD DESIGN Award highlights "the most innovative and cutting-edge industrial, product, and graphic designs produced around the world."
"We did put a lot of effort into the design process of the Konftel Ego, therefore, it's extra rewarding when we get external attention for it", says Torbjörn Karlsson, Product Manager at Konftel. "The Konftel Ego was designed to excel as a small, portable product but still have the same extraordinary audio quality you find in our bigger models. That was a real challenge for our longtime design partner Struktur Design, but they did a remarkably good job with it!"
The small and practical Konftel Ego have earlier on been rewarded with a Red Dot award for product design, with this comment from the jury: "With its small, compact form, the Konftel Ego is flexible in use and convinces with good sound and intuitively understood functions".
In the motivation for the GOOD DESIGN Award the jury emphasizes that "The Konftel Ego signals both confidence and quality. An appealing want-to-have product that supports the business users desire to hold environment friendly remote meetings."
Feel a bit Ego
"It is exactly how we tried to look at this project", states Tord Berggren at Struktur Design. "It's designed to fit in a professional business environment but still feel a bit personal, a bit Ego. It was also important that it, in spite of its small size, should fulfill Konftel's high requirements for perfect acoustic quality."
"It's noteworthy that the Konftel Ego hit the market in 2016 and it is still winning design awards around the globe", says Torbjörn Karlsson, Product Manager at Konftel. "We work in a line of business where design tends to be outdated very quickly, but Struktur Design has helped us make our products timeless design classics. That is something that makes us all very proud."
The designers at Struktur Design involved in the project was Tord Berggren, Johan Gustafsson, Oscar Björk, and Emma Nilsson.
